For those not keeping up with current political news, Christine O’Donnell, a Tea Party candidate, is running on the Republican ticket for Delaware’s open U.S. Senate seat. She is running on a basis of protecting the Constitution and bringing it back from the liberal media. This sounds like a great platform, running to protect the Constitution. That is, until she made it clear she doesn’t understand it.
Tonight, in a debate with Democratic nominee Chris Coons, O’Donnell asked “Where in the Constitution does it say separation of church and state?” Now, I’ll give her this; the Constitution never explicitly says, “separation of church and state.” However, it is strongly implied, as seen in the text of the First Amendment,
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”
See, right there, Congress will never pass a law respecting any religion, which is widely interpreted to mean “separation of church and state.” I’m sorry, but if you cannot recognize that those two phrases mean the same thing, you should not be allowed to represent the public in a place of office.
I’m a liberal, so perhaps this is biased. That being said, I do believe in healthy debate between the two sides. However, if the two sides do not bring the same knowledge of government to the table, can we even call it a debate?
On a final note, as a woman, I really wish the female candidates for public office that were getting attention were women who had their lives and smarts together.

Phillies Post-Season Roster
The unofficial post-season roster has been announced!
The Phillies just announced their NLDS roster.
Greg Dobbs, Domonic Brown and Antonio Bastardo are ON. Kyle Kendrick, Danys Baez andDavid Herndon are OUT.
Here is how it looks:

Pitchers (10): Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, Cole Hamels, Joe Blanton, Brad Lidge, Ryan Madson, Jose Contreras, J.C. Romero, Chad Durbin and Bastardo.

Catchers (2): Carlos Ruiz and Brian Schneider.

Infielders (7): Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Placido Polanco, Wilson Valdez, Mike Sweeney and Dobbs.

Outfielders (5): Raul Ibanez, Shane Victorino, Jayson Werth, Ben Francisco, Ross Gloadand Brown.
The Phillies obviously feel with Halladay, Hamels and Oswalt they do not need 11 pitchers, which cost Kendrick a spot. Dobbs could provide insurance should something happen to Rollins, who missed most of September with an injured hamstring. If Valdez had to play, the Phillies would have nobody to backup Polanco or even Utley.

Baseball Funnies
Okay, so like it or not, fan or not, the Philadelphia Phillies had the best regular season record this year. Yet the team didn’t get the best/prime game time for the first postseason game. I was wondering about this to a friend, and this is what he had to say.
I think we all know by now that if the networks had their way, this is how the playoffs would work….
1. All the teams except the Dodgers and Red Sox are discarded to another league with no coverage.
2. The Red Sox and Dodgers play 162 games to determine a finalist.
3. The winner of the season plays the Yankees in the World Series. The Yankees don’t actually play any games, but they have a computer which “creates” some great stats for them.This made me laugh so hard I couldn’t breathe.

The Best Nail Polish Collection Ever
Hello ladies! I’m here to tell you about what could possibly be the best nail polish collection ever. (Or it could tie with OPI Swiss. Jury’s still out.)
Ohhh yes. This is China Glaze’s Spring 2011 collection, which should be hitting the stores in January/February 2011. I’m warning you now, I don’t care if we’re best friends, I will push you out of the way to get this in the store.
I can already say right now without seeing these in person that I WILL be buying: Sea Spray, Pelican, Ahoy and First Mate. There’s a very good chance I will just buy all of them, as well. We’ll see. If I find a reliable online retailer, I will definitely make a followup post to spread the word!

I’ll just answer here. It’s easier. Just submit it through the normal tumblr channels. That way, hopefully, your formatting is preserved. I probably won’t need to do any editing on it because you are the one who taught me all the grammar rules. And how to spell “grammar.”
I’m very excited for this post. My friend Jill from high school is following us now, and I’m going to ask her to write some blogs too, because she’s one of the coolest people I know.
